Dr. Angelica Catusco, OTD, OTR/L
Angelica is a licensed occupational therapist who specializes in dementia care, caregiver education, and working with older adults. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with a focus on development and aging, along with a minor in Psychology from the University of Arizona. She later earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Kean University.
Angelica currently works in rehabilitation hospitals, where she supports patients through recovery and promotes meaningful engagement in daily life.When she’s not working, Angelica loves spending time with family and friends, practicing hot yoga, going to live music shows, and exploring new places through travel.
Dr. Shannon Ware, OTD, OTR/L
Shannon was raised in Portland, Oregon, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Arizona State University, with a focus on cultural and interpersonal communication. She later earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Huntington University.
Before becoming an occupational therapist, Shannon spent nearly a decade in cancer care, supporting women through their healing journeys at Portland Plastic Surgery Group. She now works in rehabilitation hospitals, using a whole-person approach to help patients regain function and independence. Outside of her professional life, Shannon enjoys hiking, skiing, hot yoga, music festivals, and spending time with the people she loves.

Our Expertise in Dementia Care
Dr. Angelica Catusco and Dr. Shannon Ware are occupational therapists with advanced training in dementia care, holding dual credentials as EssentiALZ® Certified Dementia Care Providers through the Alzheimer’s Association and Certified Dementia Practitioners® (CDP) through the NCCDP. Their shared mission is to empower caregivers, healthcare teams, and communities with practical education, effective strategies, and compassionate guidance—ensuring that every individual living with dementia is supported with dignity and person-centered care.
Dr. Shannon Ware is trained in the COPE Program (Care of Persons with Dementia in their Environments), an evidence-based, person-centered approach designed to help individuals with dementia remain at home longer. She specializes in equipping caregivers with tools to manage daily activities, ease behavioral symptoms, strengthen communication, and maintain their own well-being.
Dr. Angelica Catusco is certified in Skills2Care®, an evidence-based caregiver program that strengthens caregiver skills, enhances safety, and reduces challenging behaviors that often lead to nursing home placement. She guides families in understanding dementia, simplifying tasks, promoting independence, and prioritizing self-care while supporting their loved ones.
